"Bloodline" season 3 will be the last one for the series, after Cindy Holland, Netflix's Vice President of Original Content, made the news of its cancellation official last month. Still, the upcoming season promises to be the darkest one yet, so it looks like the series will not be going away without a bang.

The reason for the cancellation was never stated, although some are assuming it's the backlash of the tax incentive issues "Bloodline's" production faced several months back. At any rate, The upcoming third season is expected to reveal more about the Rayburns, more dark and explosive secrets that could turn the family's life upside down.

Executive producer Glenn Kessler has revealed that "Bloodline" season 3 will be very dark, but he refused to delve into the details of the upcoming installment. He did hint that more deceptions in the family will be brought to light following the death of Danny, who is portrayed by recent Emmy award winner, Ben Mendelsohn.

Fans and viewers of the series know that Danny has been manifesting himself as a ghost to his brother John, played by Kyle Chandler, the very one who took his life in season 1. Hence, it's possible that the darkness of the upcoming season will stem from Danny's appearances.

As it is, Danny has been tormenting John since the first season, which is probably why John decided to flee the Keys in the second season finale. Apparently, these cliffhangers will give way to numerous revelations concerning the Rayburn family's deepest and darkest secrets. Part of the dark storyline for the family is the unraveling of more deceptions that could make or break the family. Moreover, John will ultimately find himself back in the place he so desperately wants to escape.

"Bloodline" season 3 will likewise reveal whether Meg Rayburn (Linda Cardellini) will finally reveal the truth about Danny's death to their mother, Sally (Sissy Spacek). At the end of season 2, Meg was shown breaking down in the arms of her mother and telling her there was something she needed to know. Meg knows the circumstances surrounding Danny's death and John's involvement in it. It remains to be seen whether she discloses everything to Sally or not.

Another cliffhanger from season 2 was Nolan Rayburn's (Owen Teague) involvement in the fire that burned down his dad's (Danny) restaurant. He secretly planned it, but Diana Rayburn (Jacinda Berrett) knew about it, so it remains to be seen whether she can keep it a secret for long or if everything will come out in the open in the new season. One thing is sure, though, Nolan will be on a more destructive path in the upcoming installment, much like Danny, especially with all that rage inside him.
