Dallas Mavericks trade rumors: Mavs should make bold moves to save season

This year has been extremely tough for fans of the Dallas Mavericks.

One of the better teams for most of the 2000s, the Mavericks enjoyed highs like winning an NBA championship and constantly being a contender in the tough Western Conference.

However, this year has been nothing of the like and they are at the opposite end of the spectrum as they have the league's worst record at 3-13.

Their last contest ended in a win, but that did little to dispel that the Mavericks are in a lot of trouble this season.

One of the biggest contributors to their losses are the injuries. The biggest case in point here is Dirk Nowitzki, who missed the bulk of the season due to an Achilles injury.

He is back and slowly taking part in games, but he is certainly nowhere near where he used to be back in his prime.

To help, a source suggested that the Mavericks should try to make a run at the Milwaukee Bucks' Khris Middleton.

If the Mavericks are able to rack wins and make a surprising run at the playoffs, Middleton should be a good target given that he would instantly give the team a boost on the offensive end.

At the moment, the Mavericks have a weak offense, with Harrison Barnes taking the load.

Barnes has been a great signing so far for the Mavericks, bringing in points and proving that he can lead a team. However, the poor record of the Mavericks also suggests that he needs more help than he currently has.

If there is some truth to the talk of chasing Middleton anytime within the year, then the Mavericks should weigh their options before things get out of hand.
