The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 is just around the corner and gaming enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the new games to be unveiled at the much-awaited annual event.

From June 14-16, gamers are expected to flock to the Los Angeles Convention Center, where one of the most anticipated games is scheduled to be present: "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare."

Already the 13th installment in the "Call of Duty" series, the game is a first-person shooter developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision.

It is slated for release on three of the major gaming platforms: Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

As for the game's reveal, everyone was surprised when Activision announced it would not have a booth at the E3 2016, but fans were able to breathe a sigh of relief when they said the demos would be presented by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

The anticipation has continued to build as the official "Call of Duty" page unveiled the trailer which can be seen below.

Part of the reason why many are hyped on the release of "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" is that there are new developers playing a role in the game who have proven their worth with previous outings.

Jacob Minkoff is the team's design director who was formerly with Naughty Dog, while Taylor Kurosaki is the narrative director who had a hand in games like "The Last of Us" and the "Uncharted" franchise.

Add the fact that the game takes place in a futuristic and out-of-this-world scenario makes for many chances to take things perfectly overboard to the delight of fans. It is a highly ambitious project that has been eagerly anticipated for a while now and anything close to what people expect should be good news for the fans of the franchise.

Stay tuned for more updates on "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" and on its appearance at E3 2016.
