'Girl Meets World' season 4 renewal update: Disney Channel remains silent after Rowan Blanchard's Twitter campaign

Disney Channel has yet to give the greenlight on "Girl Meets World" season 4 and it might not do so at all, despite lead star Rowan Blanchard's campaigning.

The actress took to Twitter to encourage Disney and the fans to get the show renewed for another year. "So important 4 our gen to be a voice of hope/change & learn from each other. Hoping we continue to have that chance," the young star said.

Fans were quick to shore up Blanchard and tweeted their support with the hashtag #SaveGirlMeetsWorld. However, Disney remains silent about "Girl Meets World" season 4.

With Blanchard's need to campaign to get the show to live another year, it appears that there is no "Girl Meets World" season 4 renewal planned.

The "Boy Meets World" spinoff's third season is down to its last four episodes. There is only one episode left for this year—"A Christmas Maya Carol."

The last three episodes will then be aired in January with the finale titled "Girl Meets Goodbye," which hints that this episode could be the last one for the series as well.

When asked back in July, around the time filming for "Girl Meets World" season 3 wrapped, a Disney representative said that there are no talks of a renewal yet as the show has episodes until next year.

Looking at Disney Channel's renewal history, the network gave the nod to the third season Nov. 25 last year, which suggest that it can take time reaching a decision.

That time, only six episodes of the second season were left. With the current season down to its final four episodes, fans are beginning to worry about "Girl Meets Word" season 4 not happening.

Disney Channel has not made any announcement about the show's fate. If it will be renewed or not, fans will hear about it soon.

For now, it appears that Blanchard and even her co-star Sabrina Carpenter (currently on tour for her album, "EVOlution") are not filming.
