Even after the announcement of "Red Dead Redemption 2," a lot of fans cannot wait for the sixth installment of the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise. There are not many details yet regarding "Grand Theft Auto VI," since the developers may be pre-occupied with other projects, but there are rumors that it may feature a virtual reality (VR) gameplay.

Based on rumors circulating online, the next installment may be located in Vice City or North Yankton, but this is still unconfirmed by the developers of the title, Rockstar Games. As of now, the reason the developers are busy is their focused efforts in accomplishing "Red Dead Redemption 2." Moreover, "GTA Online" still has a big community of gamers and more contents are continually being added.

In terms of gameplay, there are suggestions that the latest installment will feature VR. With this, the budget for the sequel will be higher in order to achieve that kind of feature. They may also be using a new kind of technology during the development process.

There are also speculations that Tokyo is being considered as a location because it is massive and full of culture. Also, the city has a deep history in terms of criminal activity since the Yakuza also resides there.

Speculations also arise that the protagonist will be a female, especially since the previous entries of the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise always had male leads. The voice actress that may play the role of the new main character might be Eva Mendes, acting alongside husband Ryan Gosling.

There is no definite release date yet for "Grand Theft Auto VI," but it may be released during 2020.
