'Grey's Anatomy' season 13 spoilers: Deluca to have charges against Alex dropped?
The winter finale of "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 left fans wondering what is next for Alex (Justin Chambers) and Jo (Camilla Luddington).
Jo finally told the truth about her abusive husband, who she has been running away from for years even going so far as to change her name.
If she testifies in the trial when "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 returns, she will risk being found by her husband again. Alex mulls over taking the plea deal after learning this, but Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) attempts to convince him to do otherwise.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Luddington spoke about what fans can expect of Jo in the latter half of "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 as she takes this issue head on.
"She absolutely has a lot of fear. Her initial reaction was to run, but I think Alex telling her to stand her ground was something she had never heard before—or perhaps she had, but coming from him, in that particular moment, it really struck a chord," she said.
"She has a lot of fight in her, she's a survivor, and I think yes, she decided she's not ready to let go of what she has worked so hard to build. She's terrified, but she's taking a stand," the actress added.
This suggests that when "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 returns on air, Jo might decide to testify. It will undoubtedly change her life forever and this will not only have an effect on Alex, but Deluca (Giacomo Gianniotti) as well.
Deluca might feel bad for putting Jo's life in danger in his pursuit to get justice for what happened to him. It is clear that he has developed romantic feelings for her throughout his ordeal.
When asked about this, Luddington said that Jo has no idea about how Deluca feels about her. For now, she is all about having a simple life and is thankful to have Deluca as a friend.
It is unclear how Deluca's feelings for Jo will play a part in her fate as well as Alex's, but it is speculated that he will have the charges dropped.
"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 returns on Thursday, Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
