"GTA 6" has been in the rumor mill for quite some time now. The sixth installment of the popular open world action-adventure video game series was expected to be announced at the recently concluded PlayStation Meeting. However, fans were left disappointed and are now wondering when the game title will arrive. There have been several reports circulating suggesting that "GTA 6" will be announced by game developer Rockstar Games this year.

Despite the rampant rumors about the game, the company has failed to provide a single detail about its development, much less its release date. According to VineReport, not only does the company continue to stay silent about the upcoming game, no information has also been given about the sequel of the western shooting video game "Red Dead Redemption 2."

The recent Sony event was held to introduce the new PlayStation Pro to the public. Several game developers attended the event including Activision and Electronic Arts or EA; however, Rockstar Games and its parent company Take-Two Interactive were absent.

There are reports suggesting that Rockstar Games could launch the much-awaited game in 2018; however, there are some rumors saying that it will be in 2020. One thing for sure, "GTA 6" is not going to be available anytime soon.

Meanwhile, there have been reports saying that Rockstar Games is focusing on other projects and "GTA 6" is currently not on its plan for the next couple of years. According to a report by iTechPost, Rockstar and Take-Two are concentrating on making more content for the highly popular "GTA V." The current game has surprised a lot of people when it became an immediate hit as soon as it hit the market.

As of the moment, fans will have to wait for the game developer to provide concrete details about the upcoming title. Until then, all rumors and speculations must be taken with a grain of salt.
