NetherRealms Studios creative director Ed Boon is giving fans the power to bring characters from "Watchmen" to the "Injustice 2" roster as guest fighters.

In another Twitter poll, he asked fans whether or not they want to see the iconic individuals from Alan Moore's beloved cult favorite creation in the highly-anticipated fighting game.

As one would have thought, majority of fans answered to the affirmative (dominating the survey with 74 percent) while the rest decided against having "Watchmen" merge with "Injustice 2."

With the overwhelming response, Boon has set up expectations that a "Watchmen" character or two will be included in the upcoming fighting game. According to IGN, "Watchmen" characters rarely appear in other media outside of Moore's work about them.

Aside from the film by Zack Snyder in 2009, they only appeared in a 2008 motion comic and an episodic video game the next year.

There was also a prequel series released featuring them in 2012, but the latest is their inclusion in the DC Rebirth comics, which suggested that they might actually be joining DC heroes. If this is the case, it will definitely be more likely and easier to bring "Watchmen" to "Injustice 2".

The question now is which of the characters will be the one to be brought into the fold. Boon is yet to get into details about this though and has not even detailed what exactly he has in mind with this concept so fans will just have to wait and see.

A few days back, Boon also did a poll asking which "Mortal Kombat" and non-MK characters they would like to see in the fighting game sequel. Voters chose the anti-hero Spawn and "Mortal Kombat's" very own Subzero, whose nemesis Scorpion was added in the original game, "Injustice: Gods Among Us." Boon also teased that "so many more" DC characters will be added in "Injustice 2" and that Spawn and Subzero are "not the last fighter[s] in the roster."

Other suggestions from fans include new Flash villain Godspeed, Black Canary, Dr. Fate, Selina and Ivy and many others although there is no word at the moment how many Boon plans to add in the game.

"Injustice 2" will be released sometime in 2017.
