iPhone 6 vs iPhone 6 Plus Comparison and Review: Which Device Wins the Heart of Apple Fans?

Size truly matters. Just ask iPhone owners who are most likely being torn by two models of the iPhone brand -- the iPhone6 and the iPhone 6 Plus.

There are many details that differentiate the two Apple products. They are mostly centered on the fact that one is a smartphone while the other is a phablet.

First, the size. The iPhone 6 measures at 4.7 inches. The iPhone 6 Plus, on the other hand, comes at 5.5 inches. This size difference translates to more screen real estate for the iPhone 6 Plus, although admittedly the difference is only 0.8 inches between the two.

Yet, there's a huge impact on visual clarity in the differently-sized screens with the iPhone 6 Plus offering 1920 x 1080 pixels and the iPhone 6 only being able to provide 1334 x 750 pixels.

Another factor to consider is the difference in design of the two models. The iPhone 6 comes in curved aluminum, gold, and light or dark silver. It is 6.8mm thick and weighs 129g. As for the iPhone 6 Plus, it also comes in curved aluminum, gold, and light or dark silver. It is 7.1mm thick and weighs 172g.

Users of iPhone 5 who migrated to iPhone 6 when it initially came out readily felt the difference between the two in terms of thinness. This difference hardly exists between the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus.

On the matter of user handling convenience, there is no clear-cut basis for comparing the two devices. A smartphone is still a phone, and therefore easier to carry and manipulate by hand. A phablet is quite different. It can make the user feel clumsy or burdened by an awkward-to-handle gadget.

Apple fans who value portability and handling ease more than screen visuals would tend to prefer the iPhone 6. But those who need the resources and abilities of a tablet to go with their phone would rather have the iPhone 6 Plus.
