Many fans were disappointed when Apple failed to launch the highly anticipated MacBook Pro 2016 during the Sept. 7 company event. The Cupertino-based company unveiled the new iPhone 7 and Apple Watch 2 during the event but some devices including the 2016 MacBook Pro were also expected to be launched. Nonetheless, new rumors have emerged suggesting that the new Apple flagship laptop will come out in October this year, which is also the same time when the rumored Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will be launched.

According to a report by BGR, it will be an interesting end of the year for tech fans as both Apple and Microsoft will go head to head in the tight laptop market. The upcoming Surface Pro 5 is definitely not something to take lightly as the device is said to carry Intel's next core generation processor, the Kaby Lake. The powerful processor is said to be paired with a whopping 16 GB of RAM. The new Surface Pro 5 is also rumored to arrive with 4K resolution.

On the other hand, the MacBook Pro 2016 is also expected to come with Intel's impressive processor, the Kaby Lake. However, there are rumors circulating that the new Apple laptop might come out with the current Sky Lake processing chip. Nonetheless, speculations are rampant suggesting that the 2016 MacBook Pro will arrive with a slimmer and lighter design. It is said to have an OLED touch bar or Dynamic Function Row right above the keyboard replacing the traditional function keys.

Meanwhile, MacRumors reported that the upcoming laptop will also come with AMD Polaris-based GPU and a Touch ID sensor.

As of the moment, Apple has yet to provide significant details with regard to its development and release date. However, fans expected the company to make an official announcement anytime soon.
