The release date of Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is still a mystery, but everyone is hoping that it would be unveiled at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017. The Redmond-based tech company has yet to announce its arrival, but there is a strong indication that it will launch the anticipated device at the event.

Several reports claim that Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will be released at this year's Mobile World Congress, which will be held in Barcelona on Feb. 27. The current model, Surface Pro 4, was released on October 2015 so it was initially expected that the new-generation model will be released at the same time in 2016. However, Microsoft introduced Surface Studio and Surface Book i7 during that time. This has led to the belief that the hybrid device will be out at the upcoming MWC.

There will be three variants that may highly come out in the market and each variant will vary according to the processor it carries. The first variant is the highly talked about Kaby Lake processor, while the other variants are believed to have Core M and dual-core Core i5. Other alleged specs are 4K resolution, wireless charger and an all-new Stylus with its own recharging dock.

Along with the Microsoft Surface Pro 5, the Surface Pen is also expected to be announced. It has been totally revamped, apparently, so that users would be able to use it easier. It is said to have a better grip and a more convenient way to charge it, and make it useable for other devices. According to the allegedly leaked patent information, the new stylus has a magnetic dock that is capable of charging the pen without the help of any wire.

Enthusiasts also believe that the device will have longer battery life and faster performance due to the rumored Kaby Lake variant. The ports of the hybrid device are highly expected to be better as Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is said to have USB Type-C ports and Thunderbolt 3 support.
