A new Geekbench listing for a new Motorola phone believed to be the Moto Z 2017 claimed that the upcoming device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset.

Based on the GeekBench benchmark database that was uploaded Friday, Jan. 21, by Android Pure, the new device which is classified as the Motorola XT1650 will have a 4 GB of random-access memory (RAM) and will run using the Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system. It will also reportedly use the MSM8998 system on chip (SoC) upon release.

While there is no confirmation yet from the mobile phone manufacturer, speculations claimed that the information was referring to the next-generation Moto Z that is expected to be released this year.

Motorola just released the 2016 version of the Moto Z in June. It came with a 5.5-inch GHD screen as well as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, which means that the Snapdragon 835 chipset upgrade is a reasonable change for the device's next-generation version.

Details about the other specs of the rumored Moto Z 2017 edition are still unknown, including its possible screen size and resolution, camera equipment, or even its battery life. But the device is expected to have improved features compared with its 2016 predecessor.

The benchmark scores also revealed that the upcoming device is something to look forward to, since it managed to come up with an impressive 1,930 points on the single core test. It also ended up with 6,207 points on the multicore test. This means that the upcoming device managed to score well in all tests and earned higher scores compared with other upcoming Snapdragon 835 devices.

The Benchmark listing did not reveal when Motorola is planning to release its rumored Moto Z 2017 device, but speculations claim that the mobile phone manufacturer could unveil the device during the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona, Spain that will begin in the last week of February up to early March.
