Nexus 6 vs Droid Turbo Comparison: Specs, Features Review - Battle Among The Almost Equals

The Motorola Droid Turbo is much smaller and cheaper than the Nexus 6 from Google, but in terms of specs and design they are almost equals.

First off, the Droid Turbo has an ordinary soft-touch plastic body. Unlike the Moto X, it does not sell with either wood or leather back panels. Instead it comes with red, black and ballistic nylon options. The Nexus 6, on the other hand ,has an aluminum frame and a plastic back panel which has a smooth finish.

As for their displays, the Droid Turbo has a much smaller 5.2-inch Super AMOLED screen, with a resolution of1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 565 pixels per inch. The Nexus 6 has a huge 5.96 -inch AMOLED capacitive screen, with a resolution of1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 493 pixels per inch. The Nexus has a 74.1percent screen-to-body ratio while the Droid Turbo has 70.9 percent.

Coming to specs, the Nexus 6 comes with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop and has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, Quad-core 2.7 GHz Krait 450 CPU and Adreno 420 GPU. As for the Droid Turbo it has the Android KitKat operating system, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, Quad-core 2.7 GHz Krait 450 CPU and Adreno 420 GPU. As for RAM both devices come with 3 GB.

Another similarity in the devices is that they do not have any microSD slots, and they can be purchased with on board memory of 32 GB or 64 GB.

The Droid Turbo, however, has a superior 21 megapixel camera at its rear while the Nexus 6 has a 13 megapixel version. Both have 2 megapixel cameras in front.

A major advantage with the Droid Turbo is its bigger 3900 mAh battery while the Nexus 6 has a 3220 mAh version. However, both cannot be removed.

Finally in terms of price, the Nexus 6 can be purchased at $249 with a two-year contract, while the Droid Turbo is only available on Verizon for $199 with a similar contract.
