'Powerless' season 1 release date, news, updates: Will characters from the DC universe be appearing?
One of the most anticipated television series that are set to debut soon is "Powerless," set within the DC Universe where the characters are ordinary people. Its main character, Emily Locke, is a normal-person-turned-hero—but without any powers.
The first season of "Powerless" is set to premiere on NBC in 2017. It will highlight the life of Emily Locke. The main protagonist of the show will be played by Vanessa Hudgens. The character works in an insurance company, with an added unique service. Viewers would also be able to witness Emily as she deals with people that are affected by the damages that superheroes and super villains are causing.
It was mentioned in reports that the show will be under the comedy genre. Supervillains may possibly appear in the upcoming series, like Jack O'Lantern and Crimson Fox. Wonder Woman and Aquaman may also be namedropped within the show from time to time. Vanessa Hudgens mentioned to DC Access, "The first claim that Emily Locke is working on is one caused by Wonder Woman."
Other characters that will also be joining Emily are Teddy (Danny Pudi), Del (Alan Tudyk), Jackie (Christina Kirk) and Ron (Ron Funches). The writer of the series is Ben Queen and he will work hand in hand with the director, Michael Patrick Jann.
There is no definite release date yet for the first season of "Powerless," but it is set to arrive in 2017.
