Although the first game in the franchise was well-received, fans are reportedly clamoring for new features and new gameplay for"Red Dead Redemption 2."

Meanwhile, reports say that a number of players are expecting a Western-meets-science-fiction type of game. Those who have played the first title want to see a cowboy versus zombie gameplay for the main game and for its future expansion packs. Since zombie-themed storylines have broken into and are dominating various fields of mainstream media, some gamers are hoping to see the undead in the upcoming installment of the franchise.

Aside from the gameplay, players are hoping to see Rockstar step up its game for the sequel. Gamers are eager to have more dynamic interactions in this Western world. Reports say that players are hoping for random brawls and shoutouts. In addition, a chance of beautiful scenery wouldn't hurt too.

After quite a long time of speculating, gamers will get their hands on the sequel in time. Gamesport noted that the CEO for Take-Two Interactive Straus Zelnick reportedly spoke up about "Red Dead Redemption 2," saying that the time is right to launch a Western-themed video game.

"The conventional wisdom was of course that a western wouldn't work," Zelnick said at the MKM Partners event. "We took a different point of view, which is that very occasionally westerns capture the imagination of the public. When we launched 'Red Dead,' it did," he added.

"Red Dead Redemption 2" is expected to make its debut in the fall of 2017. Stay tuned for more updates.
