Game developer Capcom is said to have taken a different approach this time as they try to go back to their horror roots.

The company has received negative reviews from critics following the release of the series' last two installments. According to reports, the franchise has become more focused on the action scenes and forgot about the horror aspect of the game. However, Capcom has promised its fans that "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" will be different as the company will go back to its horror past to provide better gaming experience to fans.

Players will certainly find themselves fighting off zombies in order to survive. According to a report by Engadget, the company has focused on eerie sound effects and visuals to scare players.

Capcom has recently released a short demo of the game at Gamescom 2016. According to the publication, the game certainly has some scary scenes that were missing in the last two installments.

"It took place in an old, dilapidated house with smashed windows and broken floorboards," the publication reported as they went through the demo. "A frightening woman chased me inside the building, and there was little to do but desperately search for an escape route. I would throw myself through doors and frantically look in each room, hunting for something—anything—that could serve as a weapon. Before long my pursuer would draw near, however, spewing threats in a ghoulish voice."

Meanwhile, Gamespot reported that "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" will still have the same combat features such as gun attack and melee attack; however, players will be more in survival mode than being involved in over-the-top combat action.

The game will hit the shelves on Jan. 24.
