'Rick and Morty' season 3 release date, plot spoilers news: cosmetic changes, censorhip derail third installment

A series of derailed excitement is now becoming a theme for the much-loved, critically acclaimed, modern day animated series "Rick and Morty." As such, its fans have now been officially subjected to a rollercoaster ride of emotions that can only be cured with either the resumption of the series' third season or an official confirmation by the showrunners.

With much misfortune, that couldn't be said about "Rick and Morty's" current situation. The series has been a frequent visitor of both confusion and eventual delay and in any world, that just doesn't spell thrill for its fans. Previously, it was hinted that the show has been confirmed with a December air date, however, with it came the anti-climactic news that its third season will be shown prematurely as it will only have three episodes on it.

This sounds quite similar to the pronouncements of Don Harmon at the Magic City Comic Con when he teased that the third installment of "Rick and Morty" wouldn't be happening until March 2017.

Meanwhile, much of the show's delay has also been pointing to the series' processing of cosmetic changes with regard to its animations and storylines. Harmon demonstrated this previously when he provided an episode in which it was shown where an alien gets "his brain blown out." In it, the show was asked to change the color of the brain from pink to green in order to not to draw allusion from the real hue of the brain.

Moreover, a Collider report has also indicated that the show's usual filtering from its board of censorship may have contributed to the series' current delay. One cited scenario was when the show was tasked to minimize the sexual innuendo of an alien robot sex toy.
