Samsung Galaxy Note 7 release date, specs news 2016: Device to boast iris scanner, front camera flash?

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 | Samsung

There are only a few days left before the highly anticipated unveiling of Samsung's new Galaxy Note device. It is expected that the huge event of the South Korean tech giant on Aug. 2 will finally unbox the Galaxy Note 7. However, there are already leaked photos and renders of the Galaxy Note 5 predecessor that have been spreading all over the internet like a wildfire. Nevertheless, the supposed leaked details and specs information have greatly impressed the tech enthusiasts. One of the impressive rumored specs of the Galaxy Note 7 is the built-in iris scanner for much-improved security measures. Also, the Galaxy Note 7 is said to have a front camera flash for better selfie captures.

Tech Times reported the most recent leaked renders of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 7. So far, the iris scanner feature of the device is said to allow the users to unlock their devices with only their eye movements. The iris scanner will recognize the eye feature of the user, and his eye movement will dictate whether to lock or unlock the phablet. The camera features of the device are also expected to be improved by having a selfie flash. The built-in flash in the front cam will make the selfie captures brighter and more detailed, just like the captures of the rear camera.

Regarding the new model's name, it was already rumored that Samsung will skip the "Galaxy Note 6" label for its upcoming phablet model. Instead, the company will be introducing their new device offering as "Galaxy Note 7." This is due to a marketing strategy to keep the number sequence of Samsung's newest flagship gadgets. This year is also expected to see the arrival of Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, and if Samsung released their latest phablet model as Galaxy Note 6, it might cause confusion among the buyers. It will be a smart marketing move to not follow the numbering for the Galaxy Note 5's predecessor.
