Rumors has it that the upcoming unit will be launched during the 2017 Mobile World Congress, which will be held in Barcelona, Spain, on Feb. 27 to Mar 2. The tech giant is believed to be preparing for the launch of a 256-GB unit. To break down the rumors, tech enthusiasts are currently talking and hoping for a Galaxy S unit that will offer larger storage variants and a fingerprint scanner.

Reports have been suggesting that the tech giant will introduce a new strategy for the unit, which is quite different from the Galaxy S7's 32- and 64-GB versions, which came with external memory storage that could hold up to 256 GB. So far, there aren't any rumors about a microSD slot. Techtastic, on the other hand, reported that the Galaxy S8 will come with 6 GB of RAM. This will be an upgrade from the 4 GB of RAM in the preceding unit.

Furthermore, the device is expected to feature a fingerprint scanner but it won't utilize the usual method for scanning fingerprints. Samsung will reportedly equip ultrasonic technology for this design. The Galaxy S8 scanner will not come in the form of a fingerprint panel.

Reports say that with numerous upgrades, the materials for the unit is 28 percent more expensive than the Galaxy S7. The device will reportedly be available for at least $850, while better variants are expected to cost more.

Since Samsung has yet to confirm the latest claims, tech junkies should treat the recent reports as speculation until proven otherwise. Watch out for more updates on Samsung's Galaxy S8.
