Samsung's newest fitness device Gear IconX is now ready for purchase. First unveiled last June in New York, the completely wire-free fitness earbuds will be available this week.

GSM Arena detailed that the first country to get the accessory will be South Korea. It will start going on sale on July 16 in Samsung Digital Plazas. It's already available though in SamsungWA.com, the tech giant's new online shop for mobile accessories and wearable devices.

The Gear IconX is also expected to be available soon in the U.S. Samsung confirmed that they will launch it sometime in August. There is no word about a global release yet but it's predicted to follow.

There are currently two color options available, black and white, but a blue option will come out by next month. For the price, it is said that it will cost KRW 220,000, which translates to about $195. Some deem the tag to be expensive for an earbud. But considering the specs, shelling out the amount will make it worth it.

Aside from being fully cord-free, the Samsung Gear IconX earbuds are designed to be tiny in size so that it can fit perfectly in the ear lobe. It's also said to come in different sized ear tips so that it will fit earlobs of any size.

Samsung also claims that the earbuds sit snug in the ears in the "most comfortable way." And because it is purposefully made for fitness activities, users can run, jump and do all sorts of physical activity without having to worry about the device falling off.

It can also track activities even without syncing it to a smartphone. It can provide updates on speed, distance, duration, heart rate and calories burnt through a dedicated voice guide. It also comes with an internal memory of 4 GB that can be used to store songs. Moreover, the earbuds can also be tapped for various controls.
