The next "Star Wars" movie is expected to come out before the end of 2017. Until the kick-off of Star Wars Celebration this year, fans of the film franchise will have to keep waiting for any kind of new footage to be released to promote the movie.

However, with the recent announcement of the upcoming movie's title — "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" — there has been a lot of talk about the new installment of the "Star Wars" saga. Although many people are anticipating to get a longer look at Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Carrie Fisher's final performance as Princess Leia, there are also those who are eager to learn more about Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver).

In "Star Wars: Episode 8," it looks like one of the plots to be explored is the connection between the two Force-sensitive warriors. In fact, Lucasfilm recently updated the official Star Wars website, adding new bits of information in Rey and Kylo Ren's databank entries.

Based on the events that transpired in "Star Wars: Episode 7 – The Force Awakens," many fans were already under the impression that Rey and Kylo Ren shared some kind of connection. However, it was only recently that Lucasfilm acknowledged that fact by editing Rey's database entry, which now reads:

"On Takodana, Skywalker's lightsaber called to Rey, who experienced a Force vision. She rejected this call to destiny, but was captured by the dark side warrior Kylo Ren, with whom she shared a strange connection."

It was already revealed in the previous movie that Kylo Ren is actually Ben Solo, the son of Leia and Han Solo. Now, it looks like "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" will be addressing Rey's parentage. Now that Lucasfilm has confirmed that the two shared a "strange connection," this could probably point to her parentage and a popular theory that Luke Skywalker is Rey's father, making Rey and Kylo Ren cousins.

"Star Wars: The Last Jedi," written and directed by Rian Johnson, is set for release on Dec. 15.
