A not-so-merry December is set to befall on the fans of "Steven Universe" as its fourth installment may get derailed, according to the latest sling of speculations from the grapevine.

The rumors of the cancellation of Rebecca Sugar's animated television series has come surfacing when its previous episode "Gem Harvest" has generated lower-than-usual ratings. Furthermore, the recent outing did not bode well for the people behind the show as the episode was tipped to outperform their expectations.

As such, the show's abrupt conclusion has been dignified further by the lack of the show's episode listings, an indication that the show may have very well be losing some of its already dwindling viewers. The series which had been enjoying good ratings on IMDB has now shown to have lesser viewers in the recent episode.

Some circles have also speculated that the show's recent loss of steam among its viewers may signal that the show may head for a longer hiatus after it airs "Three Gems and a Baby" on Dec. 1. Despite this harrowing rumors, the fans of the show are still adamant in knowing that the series will still push through eventually.

These have also not stopped them from engaging themselves in theories as to what will happen to Steven and the gems in the upcoming episode. Reports have circulated that the forthcoming entry will be a throwback on the first winter Greg and Steven had. As Steven was born during the winter season, the episode will reportedly feature younger versions of the character. Meanwhile, Rose Quartz has also been tipped to appear.
