More content is coming to "Tom Clancy's The Division." Ubisoft has announced that aside from the arrival of Last Stand, the third paid expansion for the open-world third-person shooter, the game developer will also be releasing Update 1.6, which is free for all players. To prepare all the planned changes and additions, Ubisoft has released the upcoming update's patch notes and will begin beta testing via the Public Test Server (PTS) this Tuesday, Jan. 24.

"There have been many talks about Update 1.6 being focused on PvP, and while parts of this is true, this update goes far beyond that to address a lot of things that Update 1.4 and 1.5 couldn't. We hope that this update will help bring yet more variety in character building with an even deeper emphasis on decisions and specializations," said senior community developer Yannick Banchereau on the Ubisoft forums.

Ubisoft announced that Update 1.6 will include three new areas to the North of the Dark Zone, where players will encounter new enemies. There will also be new Contamination events, as well as changes to the Dark Zone leaderboards.

Meanwhile, the update will also include tweaks for combat, weapons and gear sets. While a detailed list of changes can be seen here, Ubisoft mentioned that these updates are actually more nuanced than what can be described by words. Nevertheless, the patch notes give players a comprehensive preview of what will be coming to "The Division" in the near future.

PTS will be available for PC players only and is scheduled to begin today at 12 p.m. CET or 6 a.m. EST, but the exact time has yet to be confirmed.

No official release date for Last Stand and Update 1.6 yet but its arrival is expected to depend on the results of PTS. Ubisoft has also confirmed there is more content planned for "The Division" down the line.

"Tom Clancy's The Division" is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows PC.
