Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) playing king of New Orleans since the Mikaelsons' downfall will soon come to an end. Meanwhile, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) will be going through some personal battles caused by his imprisonment of five years.

Season 4 of "The Originals" will finally premiere this Friday with their episode titled, "Gather Up the Killers," and things will jump off five years since Marcel chained Klaus to a wall and put the rest of the Mikaelsons in a deep painful sleep.

However, it appears that Marcel's reign in New Orleans will be cut shorter than expected as he welcomes a new band of vampires into the city.

"On the fifth anniversary of Klaus' defeat, Marcel is king of the city and welcomes the un-sired vampires to New Orleans, only to find they pose an unexpected threat to his rule, leading him to seek counsel from an unlikely source. Meanwhile, as Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) closes in on the cure that will allow her to revive Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and the slumbering Mikaelsons, she faces a final task that will force her to make a ruthless decision," the episode's synopsis posted on The Futon Critic reads.

It is possible that Marcel's "unlikely source" of counsel will be Klaus because he's the only vampire that reigned in New Orleans other than him. If this turns out to be true, Marcel might be forced to release Klaus from his chains so that they can work together in fighting off the new threat of vampires.

Meanwhile, Klaus had a moment with Cami (Leah Pipes) in the season 4 promo of "The Originals." But it appears that Cami was only a hallucination, as executive producer Michael Narducci explained with Entertainment Weekly what Klaus will be going through in season 4.

Narducci said that Cami's words were echoing in Klaus' mind while he was being tormented during the trial and even during his imprisonment.

"Coming out of that, he's going to struggle a bit, and we will see some of that struggle," Narducci added.

"The Originals" season 4 premieres this Friday, March 17, at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
