The third season of "Tokyo Ghoul" is one of the most awaited series to return to the small screen. However, there are still not many details about the third installment of the show, and there is a high chance that it may return in 2017 instead of this year.

It has already been a while since the second season of "Tokyo Ghoul" has ended and the viewers of the show are getting impatient with the release of the third season. The creator and the production company behind the animated series have been silent with regards to its air date.

There are also a lot of speculations regarding the storyline. Reports mention that Ken Kaneki will be having a new identity in the third season due to amnesia. However, the main protagonist of the show will slowly regain his memories. His new identity will be Haise Sasaki, the leader of the Quinx Squad—a subgroup of the commission of counter ghoul (CCG). The members of the squad also have the capability to possess the powers of the ghouls.

Furthermore, Ken Kaneki will become stronger as he unleashes the complete form of his Kakuja. Another focus in the third season is Touka Kirishima. It will show how she would be able to handle her double life as a ghoul and a normal college student, since there are still some people that may be after her.

There is no definite release date yet for the premiere of the third season of "Tokyo Ghoul," but there is a possibility that it will be released next year.
