Wyatt Earp's gun-slinging, demon-combatting great-granddaughter will be coming around for a shot at season 2 of the fantasy horror series, "Wynonna Earp."

The show's panel at Saturday's San Diego Comic-Con International was in full force in support of Seven24 Films' and IDW Entertainment's announcement that the western supernatural television series will be coming back for a sophomore run. It was also confirmed on the show's official Twitter page.

President David Ozer of IDW Entertainment declared at the event, "In just one season, Wynonna Earp has struck a chord with the fans. We look forward to continuing this epic journey."

The showrunner, Emily Andras, also shared, "I'm absolutely thrilled we have the opportunity to deliver more of our witty, female-led, kickass, diverse supernatural series to our passionate fan base around the world."

Jordy Randall of Seven24 Films also said that viewers of the show have become transformed into "passionate fans" courtesy of the remarkable female-dominated cast.

It may come as a surprise that a series with a following of 556,000 would deserve another run, but the show's fan base took it very seriously that each new episode that season 1 released was taken online and hashtagged, such that the show would trend online.

Ozer saw the potential for the series to grow with the viewer's response to the first installment of "Wynonna Earp." The active social media following may be one rationale for the decision to follow on with the 10-episode second season.

The power cast which will assemble once more for "Wynonna Earp" season 2 consist of Melanie Scrofano as Wynonna Earp, Tim Rozon as Doc Holliday, and Shamier Anderson as Agent Dolls.

The series follows the exploits of Wynonna as she fights demons and other supernatural threats to bring them to justice. It is based on a comic book series of the same name created by Beau Smith.

"Wynonna Earp" season 2 will be arriving to Syfy in 2017.
