X-Men fans can look forward to a new character in the upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse."

Director Brian Singer announced that Jubilation Lee, more popularly known as Jubilee, will finally appear as one of the mutants in the comic franchise movie.

In a tweet posted on Thursday, Singer revealed that actress Lana Condor will play Jubilee, a character who can emit colorful energy plasma that she uses against enemies, according to Entertainment Weekly.

In the "X-Men" universe, Jubilee is a teenage mutant capable of generating explosive plasmoids from her hands. She was a central character in the 1990's cartoon series.

"I'd officially like to welcome our newest mutant #JubilationLee, #Jubilee @LanaCondor to #XMEN #Apocalypse," Singer told his 191,000 followers in a post that received 1,250 retweets.

In 1989, Jubilee first appeared in the "Uncanny X-Men" often portrayed as the mutant who wears a yellow raincoat.

Jubilee's appearance in the film will mark Condor's debut on the big screen. She will be joining the new cast of "X-Men: Apocalypse" comprising of Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops) and Sophie Turner (Jean Grey).

The highly anticipated Apocalypse will also feature the return of Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggert) and Nicholas Hoult (Beast).

Last week, Lawrence confirmed that "Apocalypse" will be her last film in the franchise.

Hugh Jackman will also appear in the film as Wolverine while Oscar Issac will play mutant antagonist Apocalypse.

Neither Ian McKellen nor Patrick Stewart will be returning as their older iterations of Magneto and Professor X.

Singer will direct the film, which is set for release on May 27 next year, from a script by Simon Kinberg, Dan Harris and Michael Dougherty.
