Xbox Games With Gold December 2016 free games list update: 'Sleeping Dogs' and 'Outlast' coming this December

The free games for December will be available till Dec. 1 to Jan. 15, 2017. | Xbox

The end of the month usually marks the arrival of yet another list of upcoming free games for Xbox Games with Gold subscribers. An official list has finally come out, and Games with Gold members will get to play multiple classic titles this coming December.

According to the official announcement posted on Youtube, four new titles will be added to the free games roster. For Xbox One players, they will be able to play "Sleeping Dogs: The Definitive Edition" as well as the survival horror game, "Outlast." Available for the Xbox 360 (and Xbox One Backwards Compatibility) are titles "Outland" and "Burnout Paradise."

As for the official schedule of the games' release, "Sleeping Dogs" and "Outland" will be available on Dec. 1. "Outland," however, will only be available until the 15th of December. "Sleeping Dogs" will be available for free until Dec. 31.

"Outlast" and "Burnout Paradise" will be available on the second half of the month, coming out on Dec. 16. "Burnout" will be available up until the end of December, while "Outlast" will be taken off the shelf on Jan. 15.

As for the games themselves, "Sleeping Dogs" is somewhat close to the open-world gangster franchise "Grand Theft Auto," but this time, it deals with the Chinese triads. The game has players driving around, killing enemy gangsters, and learning kung fu — all in the name of getting more power over the city.

"Outlast" is a horror survival game that puts gamers inside an asylum which they have to escape while trying to fend off disturbing mental patients and even some members of the staff.

As for the remaining two games, "Burnout Paradise" is another open-world racing game which is the trademark of the franchise, and "Outland" is a 2D platformer game recognized for its unique visuals and gameplay.

The Free Games for Xbox Games with Gold will be available starting Thursday, Dec. 1.
