'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' season 4 news 2016: Cast and crew coming to San Diego Comic-Con
Cast members of Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." are coming to San Diego Comic-Con 2016 to showcase to fans what they can expect from the show's upcoming fourth season. With Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) being demoted to a field agent once more, someone else will have to be the head of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The appearance of the hit series at this year's Comic-Con has been announced weeks ago by Marvel. The company encouraged fans to join the show's panel which will take place at Ballroom 20 on the event's second day, Friday, July 22 at 3 p.m. The San Diego Comic-Con will run from Thursday, July 21 through Sunday, July 24.
Participating cast members include Gregg, Chloe Bennet (Daisy Johnson), Ming-Na Wen (Agent May), Elizabeth Henstridge (Jemma Simmons), Iain De Caestecker (Fitz), and Henry Simmons (Mack). The executive producers of the show, Maurissa Tancharoen, Jeff Bell and Jed Whedon will also be present, and the entire discussion will be moderated by Jeph Loeb, Marvel's head of television.
In an interview with Pop Matters, Gregg talked about what fans can expect from "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4. He also mentioned the "Captain America: Civil War" movie and how it affected the characters in the show.
"I could see where it was going. It was fun to have that come in our portion of the world in that it has immediate foreboding ramifications when it comes to...registering Inhumans," Gregg said.
To those who aren't familiar, Inhumans are superpowered individuals who are very much like the mutants of the "X-Men" franchise; the only difference is that the Inhumans' powers are dormant until they are exposed to a substance called the Terrigan Mist. Mutants' powers activate all on their own.
Since the Marvel Cinematic Universe does not have the rights to use mutants in their stories (the rights belong to FOX), the studio has opted to use the Inhumans as superpowered individuals in the show.
Gregg also teased new inventions that Fitz might have for him after he got a mechanical arm to replace the one that he lost in season 2. "There might even be some new reveals of what the hand can do," said Gregg. He also talked about a redesign for the Quinjet in the upcoming season.
Season 4 of Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." airs in September on ABC.
