AMD Polaris 10 release date news 2016: AMD Radeon RX 480 and Radeon RX 470 available end of June

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) introduces its fastest Polaris graphics processing unit in the form of the Polaris 10. The upcoming Radeon RX 480 and 470 graphics cards will be based on this powerful new GPU.
The AMD Radeon RX 480 is the more premium model of the two. This top-of-the-line graphics card can handle Virtual Reality (VR) and high-definition intense gaming without a hiccup.
The Polaris 10-based AMD Radeon RX 480 packs the latest Graphics Core Next architecture with 2304 Stream processors set on a clock speed of 1266 MHz. It churns out an impressive 5.5 teraflops.
The AMD Radeon RX 480 based on Polaris 10 comes in two versions. The first one offers 4 GB of GDDR5 priced at $199. The other version priced at $239 doubles that to 8 GB for pristine HD gaming experience.
The Polaris 10-powered AMD Radeon RX 480 is built on a 14-nanometer FinFET architecture. Despite its huge amount of power, it will stay cool and quiet, thanks to this build and the 150W thermal design power and its 6-Pin connector.
The lower-powered AMD Radeon RX 470, which is also based on Polaris 10, also boasts a 6-Pin connector but with only 110W thermal design power, which is already impressive for its price range.
If the Polaris 10 AMD RX 480 will be for 1440p resolution gaming, the RX 470 can handle 1080p at best. Just like the former, it comes with 4 GB and 8 GB GDDR5, which can be purchased for $149 and $179 respectively.
The pair of Polaris 10 graphics cards will be available for sale on June 29. Laptops equipped with the AMD RX 480 and Radeon RX 470 will be up for grabs later this year.
Apart from the two, the end of month also promises the release of the AMD Radeon RX 460, the smallest of them all based on Polaris 11, slightly less powerful than the Polaris 10.
