Apple Watch 2 rumors: Thinner design and cellular features

Tech enthusiasts speculate that the Apple Watch 2 will be announced this coming September along with the iPhone 7. But while no official release date has been set yet, rumors are making rounds online regarding the features that the upcoming smartwatch is said to have.
According to Zdnet.com, the new Apple Watch will have cellular connectivity that will remove the watch's need for the iPhone. When the Apple Watch first came out, users were saying that cellular connectivity was a feature that the wearable needed to have. Recent Android Wear devices already have the feature, so Apple would have to do the same to their next smartwatch if they want to keep up with the competition.
Though this may seem to be a nifty feature for the Apple Watch 2, there is also speculation that users will come to hate the cellular feature in the long run. One gripe is that, with cellular connectivity, the watch will have to constantly use more power. Many users have already been complaining about the current Apple Watch because of the constant need to charge the device. Also, rumors have it that users will not want to do so much of their browsing on the watch because of the tiny interface. Surfing for videos and texting would ultimately be more convenient with a bigger screen.
In regards to the battery issues, the manufacturers are reportedly looking to utilize an LTE screen for the watch instead of an OLED. The switch will allow the watch to be thinner and more compact, and at the same time, it will make the device more energy-efficient with its battery use.
Apple fans are expecting the unveiling of the Apple Watch 2 to come this September, but so far the company has yet to release any confirmation to this. But since the rumored release date is still a long way to go, people can expect an official announcement from Apple sometime before then.
