'Assassin's Creed' news, spoilers, and details: Michael Fassbender talks about involvement in film

Many are excited for the upcoming live action adaptation of the well-loved franchise, "Assassins Creed."

It was previously announced that a movie for "Assassin's Creed" will soon release, starring Michael Fassbender. With such as stellar actor taking on the lead role, many fans are looking forward to the upcoming film.

Reports indicated that Fassbender has been involved with the project since the beginning,making him very passionate about it. In an interview,he shared that his interest in the film is rooted in its fantasy world.

Fassbender explained that he enjoyed taking part in such an interesting universe, with a story that is as equally intriguing.

He said, "I just thought that was a really interesting catch. And I thought that it was a very plausible theory. I think if you can bring something like that to a fantastical world, it hooks the audience in even more and it makes the journey even more immersive."

In addition, he stated that he liked the conflict of the film, as it showed interesting parties who both belonged to the gray area, which blurred the lines between what is good and bad.

He elaborated, "Also, what I liked about it is it's not like Star Wars where you have the dark side and the light. Both of these factions... they contradict themselves all the time And they are hypocritical, as well, of their beliefs. I thought that was cool. So, morally, you've got a very gray area that both of them are working in. I thought that was unusual for this sort of film, and also just a lot more interesting."

With that, many are looking forward to what the upcoming film will present, as the conflict will surely challenge many of the characters. 

"Assassin's Creed" is expected to release in theaters on Dec. 21.
