Ayesha Curry speaks up about 'rigged' NBA finals tweet

Ayesha Curry has once again gained the spotlight in the social media world after she posted a tweet about the NBA finals match between the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
According to reports, she called the game "rigged" after her husband, two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry, was ejected from the game last June 16. The Cavaliers won against the Warriors with a score of 115-101 and that's when the lady of the Curry household vented out her opinion.
"I've lost all respect sorry this is absolutely rigged for money...Or ratings ... not sure which. I won't be silent. Just saw it live sry," Ayesha wrote. Her controversial tweet, which has since been deleted, was quickly noticed by her over 600,000 Twitter followers and caused her to receive a lot of criticism and bashing from the netizens.
Ayesha had kept quiet about the issue for some time, but just recently, she spoke with People Food wherein she revealed her side of the story and expressed her apology to everyone. According to her, she was just a "fan in that moment" and it slipped her mind that one tweet from her like that would cost a lot.
As the Daily Mail reported, Ayesha's tweet set off various memes and trolling that depicted mocking of the Curry family. Several were pictures of either Stephen or Ayesha's face being photoshopped with another face like Michael Jordan's or LeBron James'. Ayesha tweeted that it was the photos that were insulting and hurting her feelings.
Yet, despite all of the trolling and online jokes, Ayesha said that she did "regret" the way she expressed her hurt.
"I felt hurt for [Steph], and I didn't mean to offend anybody. Obviously, what I wrote is not what I think about what he does for a living," the mother-of-two said.
Her basketball superstar husband also stood by her side, commenting that he understood her wife's intentions and where she was coming from. He also just encouraged her to continue to be true to herself and not worry about what people are saying.
