'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition' release date news 2016: Did it fix the movie?

The release of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Edition," which was released in cinemas for only one day last week, was met with more divisive reactions from fans of the DC superhero franchise.

The "Ultimate Edition" included 20 additional minutes to the movie which included deleted scenes between Jenet Klyburn (Jena Malone) and Lois Lane (Amy Adams), Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) going to Gotham to investigate on the Batman (Ben Affleck), and more scenes that explain what were considered plot holes for the theatrical release. The movie also boasted an R rating, with director Zack Snyder saying that this version has more violence and even a bit of nudity.

After its release a few days ago, fans have once more took to the internet and argued whether this version has "fixed" the movie or not. One party praises the movie for fixing all the initial holes that were present in the theatrical release; added motivation from Superman is presented on why he wants to stop the Batman. The other party argues that this edition didn't change their opinion of the movie at all, and they went on to say that the extended runtime bloated the movie even further.

The violence that prompted the R rating was perhaps contributed by the more violent ways Batman would use to take down his villains. His grappling hooks were said to pierce his enemies' skin, and the nudity scene comes from none other than Ben Affleck.

When the movie was first released last March, fans were a bit disappointed with how the movie turned out; most of the complaints came from the very convoluted plot, the paper-thin motivations of the titular heroes, and Jesse Eisenberg's unique take on Lex Luthor. The movie currently stands with a 27% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
