'Black Panther' release date news: Writer talks about what fans can expect from the movie
Marvel Studios' "Black Panther" movie is currently underway, and co-writer Joe Robert Cole talked about how the movie will treat Wakanda and how it will affect the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The movie is reportedly set shortly after "Captain America: Civil War" ends. In an interview with SlashFilm, Cole says, "We'll be able to see [TÇhalla (Chadwick Boseman)] mourning and him starting to take command as king of his own nation. Lots of things are going to occur within regards to that." He also says that the villains of "Black Panther" will be coming from within and outside the country of Wakanda.
In "The Avengers: Age of Ultron," viewers were first introduced to Andy Serkis' Ulysses Klaue, who is more popularly known in the comic universe as Klaw. He is one of the most prominent villains of Black Panther, and viewers are expecting Serkis to have a more prominent role in the film this time around. In "Age of Ultron" Klaue's arm was cut off; in the comics, Klaw has a prosthetic arm that allows him to launch sonic-based attacks on his enemies, making him quite a unique adversary to Black Panther.
The fictional country of Wakanda is also known to be one of the most advanced places in the MCU, and Cole talks about how he plans to integrate African culture to the movie. "What we tried to do was hone in on some of the history, some of the cultural influences and then extrapolate out in our technology, extrapolate out in how we see Wakanda and the different parts of the country and the culture of the country as well," said Cole
"Black Panther" is currently undergoing pre-production and it stars Chadwick Boseman as the titular hero. It is expected to hit theaters Feb. 16, 2018.
