"Bloodline" may have kept its fans worried about its future because it had been a while since Netflix made any official statements for the third season. Now after a long wait, the good news has finally come — "Bloodline" is renewed for a third season, and it's set for release in 2017.

According to TV Line, the third season will delve more deeply into the family's secret, and it will run for ten episodes.

Showrunners Glenn Kessler, Todd A. Kessler, and Daniel Zelman revealed that they've planned the series to have more seasons from the get-go.

In an interview with Deadline in June, Kessler said, "We always planned on multiple seasons. It's about the family and the relationships of those family members."

The second season of "Bloodline" ended with a dark tone, showing Danny Rayburn (Ben Mendelsohn) being murdered by his younger brother John (Kyle Chandler). Fans of Danny need not worry, though, because as Kessler told the Hollywood Reporter, the third season still plans to bring Danny back.

"So we never want to get too far from his murder and we never want to get too far from the influence he had on his family," he said.

Meanwhile, Owen Teague, who plays Nolan Rayburn, teased that Nolan and his family will do everything to protect themselves from danger in the following season. Apparently, Nolan will do some bad things to ensure that things will get better than they already are.

Ever since "Bloodline's" debut in Netflix back in 2015, critics have been giving the show great praise, and the thriller-drama currently sits on an 8.3 rating on IMDb. Rotten Tomatoes has given it a rating of 63 percent which, although may not seem high enough, is not a bad score either.

Fans of "Bloodline" will have to wait until 2017 for season 3, but in the meantime, they can re-watch the first two seasons on Netflix.
