"Bloodline" season 3 could see John (Kyle Chandler) spiraling into the depths of his darkness and Meg (Linda Cardellini) continuing where she left off in the season 2 finale and spilling the beans to Sally (Sissy Spacek).

While a third season has not yet been ordered, a potential new season of the Netflix thriller/drama would almost certainly find the Rayburns driving towards grimmer and ever more complicated futures.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter earlier this month, "Bloodline" co-creator Daniel Zelman said that as John digs deeper into himself, he will likely encounter the darker sides of his personality.

According to the "Bloodline" boss, he and his co-creators had discovered that Chandler, who is best known for his Emmy-winning good guy role in the drama series "Friday Night Lights," had a "capacity for darkness" that enabled them to sharpen his "Bloodline" character.

In the season 1 finale, John killed his older brother Danny (Ben Mendelsohn). While Danny's death seemed accidental at the time, the second season of "Bloodline" has seen John being increasingly villainous and performing a variety of crimes to try and cover up the murder. He even went as far as kidnapping — and almost killing — someone else.

"He's got a tremendous depth of pain and anger," Chandler told THR in a separate interview. "He's got a lot of dark corners that are not explored yet that are possible for him to go to. He could be very self-destructive. I think he could hurt other people. I think there's a point where there's almost — his mind could push him from behind into anything, without him doing so willingly, which is very dangerous."

Meanwhile, in an interview with Gold Derby, Cardellini talked about whether or not Meg will finish the near-confession she was making in the season 2 finale.

According to the actress, she is looking forward to how the confession turns out and how Sally will react. "Whatever that next sentence is, I'm very excited to see where that leads — if anybody actually tells the truth," she said.

Netflix has yet to announce whether it is renewing or cancelling "Bloodline." The show's first two seasons are currently available for streaming on Netflix.
