'Destiny 2' release date news: Scheduled launch rumored for 2017; to debut at E3 event?
Fans of the online-only first-person shooter game "Destiny" have one thing in common. They are all wondering when Bungie and Activision may possibly release the game's sequel.

According to reports, fans will have to wait a little longer as the second installment of the game will not be coming anytime this year. Several reports have cited that the "Destiny 2" has been delayed and will make its way to the gaming world by 2017.
There is no official confirmation to this one yet but in a previous report by Venture Beat, Bungie stated that they are working alongside Activision to release a full game sequel in 2017. This gives the fans hope that despite delays, the part two is certain to happen. There are also rumors going around saying that the game will be making its debut during the upcoming E3, specifically during Sony's Press Conference.
The reason for the long wait of the sequel is largely due to the expansion that the game is going to get. Bungie also mentioned back in February that they will be bringing a large new expansion for "Destiny" this year. Details about it have been carefully kept under wraps but leaks have surfaced giving an advanced tip on what will be coming along with the "Destiny's Rise of Iron" DLC.
Kotaku reported that a Reddit user spilled the beans of the expansion. It claimed that it will be following the storyline of Lord Saladin and his journey to the Plaguelands. It's also said that the players will discover the fate of the Iron Lords and will do everything in their power to cease the growing threats that lie ahead.
The expansion is said to include new story campaigns and quests, new armor and gear, weapons, raid, strike and crucible mode and maps. There will also be new enemy and faction bosses to defeat as well as new Plaguelands Zone and Social Space.
None is official yet but Bungie announced on their website that they will be unveiling something in their Twitch channel. Stay tuned at June 9 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time.
