The enemy from the dark future looks just like Goku, but wears black outfit to match the evilness of his persona. He also wears a sinister smile, one that the present Goku won't ever be seen wearing.
On the artwork for "Dragon Ball Super" episode 47, which is titled "SOS from the Future! A Black New Enemy Appears!" he also sports an earring that looks like the ones worn by "Dragon Ball: Xenoverse" antagonist Demigra also known as the Demon God.
They are believed to be Potara earrings usually sported by Supreme Kais. Ironically, instead of protecting the world like what a Supreme Kai is supposed to do, Black Goku is all about burning it to the ground.
In order to tap into the earring's power, another individual must wear the match earring as well. Black Goku must have someone to use it with in "Dragon Ball Super" episode 47 to use its full power. Could it be Demigra?
In the trailer for "Dragon Ball Super" episode 47, Black Goku was shown as a streak of light, running around the decrepit city that is supposed to be the home of Future Trunks.
While he defeated Cell already, as he announced in the promo, the fight is far from over as Black Goku joins the fray. Future Trunks promises his mother to keep the planet safe whatever it takes.
This promise might be what leads him to the present to seek help from Goku and the heroes. "Dragon Ball Super" episode 47 should also reveal some members of the present crew's fates in the future. The episode also appears to be the darkest the anime has ever been.
"Dragon Ball Super" episode 47 "SOS from the Future! A Black New Enemy Appears!" will air on June 12 at 9 a.m. JST on Fuji TV.
