Bandai Namco is set to unleash "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" into the world of gaming in the fall, just over a year after it released its predecessor, the popular fighting role-playing video game "Dragon Ball Xenoverse."

The upcoming sequel, which is said to be the largest and most detailed world created for the "Dragon Ball" franchise to date, was at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). It was announced that the game will have a hub city seven times larger than that of its predecessor and will feature an all-new transportation system.

In a recent interview with RPG Site, "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" producer Masayuki Hirano talked about the many improvements, new elements, and even surprises coming to the next "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" installment.

According to Hirano, they are working hard on developing a new game that will be different from the original and that will offer a richer online experience. As the game's producer said, one of the biggest changes in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" is its online features.

"In the first game we had Toki Toki City but now we have Conton City," he said, "which is much larger and you'll be able to interact with a lot more people."

Hirano also hinted at the possibility of characters from the anime "Dragon Ball Super" appearing in the game. According to the producer, he can't really go into details because "Dragon Ball Super" is an ongoing animated series and because it takes a long time to create each character.

"[W]e do have a feeling that we want to include characters — maybe at the timing of release or it might be after the release," he said. "We do hope to include those characters."

Speaking with Siliconera, Hirano detailed the adjustments being made to the fighting system in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2."

According to him, they have been getting feedback from fans about the difficulty of doing combos in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse." In response, they have tweaked the player versus player systems in the upcoming game such that opponents can't easily dodge attacks by performing a quick teleportation.

"There is a new system called the Stamina Break where you can take the opponent's stamina," he said. "If you're doing a combo, they won't be able to avoid your attack that easily. With this new system, there is more depth to the battle system."

Hirano also talked about another adjustment, Burst Dash, which players can use to pursue or dodge and attack enemies automatically.

"Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" will be out later this year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
