Duggar family news: Bashed again for cryptic Facebook post; family blames victims of Orlando shooting?

The Duggar family are in hot waters in the social media world again. After the family posted a Bible verse on their official Facebook page, people flocked in the post to leave comments against the family.
The post instigated some internet scandal as netizens assumed that it was in response to the weekend's devastating mass shooting in Orlando, Florida. The post read: "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. James 4:7-8."
Apart from the verse, there were no other thoughts or comments that came along with it. This led the followers to interpret the Duggars' meaning however they would like to. Unfortunately, the netizens did not respond so well to the Bible verse, with several of them accusing that the Duggars' intention for posting was to blame the victims of the shooting that took place early morning of Sunday, June 12.
As noted by The New York Times, the world was shaken when a gunman, identified as Omar Mateen, killed 49 people and wounded 53 more in an attack at the Pulse gay nightclub. Netizens, as well as public figures, have poured out their grief and condolences over the internet following the massacre. As for the Duggars, they posted the verse at the height of the news, which is why many believed that the verse was meant for the terrifying event especially since the family has previously vocalized that they are against the LGBT community.
Some commented that the "resist the devil" line was implying that the victims of the attack were to be held accountable because they failed to "resist the devil." Many also brought to line again the issue of the eldest son, Josh Duggar, who had molested his sisters and cheated on his wife.
Until now, the Duggars have not responded to the attack of the netizens. They have also chosen to keep the controversial post up.
