'Elder Scrolls 6' release date: Bethesda to remain tight-lipped until launch

Fans won\'t hear about \"Elder Scrolls 6\" for a while. | ElderScrolls.com

"Elder Scrolls 6" is still a long way off and unfortunately for fans, developer Bethesda Softworks will keep details close to their chest all throughout the long wait.

On Twitter, Bethesda's vice president for public relations and marketing Pete Hines was firm in saying that "I am not giving out any information about TES6 until we formally reveal it."

The same goes for the pair of titles that Bethesda will release before "Elder Scrolls 6." When asked about these games, he asserted that he is "not giving any hints on their future projects."

With that said, it appears that it will be a painful wait for fans. Bethesda already revealed that "Elder Scrolls 6" is years and years away, so it will indeed be a tough journey for those who have been waiting for it.

With regards to what the game will be about, game director Todd Howard said at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in June via PCGamer that "it's something that's going to take a lot of time, what we have in mind for that game."

"When you think about, what is the future of that kind of game, we have a pretty good idea of what it would be, and it's just going to take technology and time that, really, we don't have necessarily right now," he continued.

With regards to speculations, "Elder Scrolls 6" is reportedly set in the swampy region of Argonia. Some believe it will be a sequel to the beloved game "Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim."

However, like what Bethesda, fans won't know for sure if these speculations are accurate. More than that, there's a long wait ahead of them.

Good thing that fans can first make themselves busy with the "Skyrim" remaster, which is finally coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and personal computer (PC).

The game will come with improved graphics and visuals as well as high-definition textures. All the downloadable content (DLC) released for the original game will be available.

There will be mod support for the PS4 and Xbox One while PC players will have to wait post-launch.
