'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' spoilers: American houses and magical abilities leaked

\"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them\" will be sorting students to four houses with names different from those in Hogwarts. | Facebook/fantasticbeastsmovie

The houses in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" won't be called Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. Since the film takes fans in the magical regions in America— the Hogwarts there is called Ilvermorny— there will be different names for the sortings.

A "Harry Potter" fan named Federico Ian Cervantez dug into the Javascript of a quiz still being prepared for the official "Harry Potter" website, accidentally discovering a chunk of details about the new houses.

It was revealed from there that the American houses to be featured in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" will be called Horned Serpent, Wampus, Thunderbird and Pukwudgie.

The Horned Serpent is described as a "dragon-like" creature with long teeth and horn. They are believed to possess the ability to control the rain, lightning and thunder as well as the ability of shape-shifting, invisibility and hypnosis.

The second house fans will see in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is represented by the Pukwudgie. Standing at two to three-feet, this creature, although "human-shaped," has "smooth gray skin that sometimes glows."

Another physical difference of the Pukwudgie from human beings is that it has a larger nose, ears and fingers. Its magical abilities include disappearing and reappearing as well as creating fire.

A more intriguing ability of this "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" sorting is that it has the ability to transform (partial or complete) into a porcupine or cougar.

The third of the "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" houses, the Wampus, is a "cat-like" creature that appears to be a "fearsome" version of a cougar. No magical abilities were uncovered.

The same goes for the Thunderbird, which was only described as a "legendary creature" that looks like "a very large bird that is capable of "generating storms and thunder as it flies."

It remains to be seen if these houses will be the ones that will turn up in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." But if a quiz was being prepared for fans, it won't be long before official reveals are made.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" starring Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander releases Nov. 18, 2016.
