Fans expressed their disappointment when they learned that they must wait a couple more months before getting their hands on the highly-anticipated role-playing video game "Final Fantasy XV" ("FFXV"). Despite the delay, developer Square Enix sustained the hype by releasing new gameplay footage.

During the "Final Fantasy XV" panel at PAX West last Saturday, the game company showcased a demo of the features fans could expect in the newest installment of the "Final Fantasy" franchise.

The first thing they showed off was a side quest where players need to drive across the desert to get to another quest destination. It showcased the in-game car features and controls that seemed to be significant in the gameplay of "FFXV."

By playing a few other quests, the mechanics of battles and the magic systems were further explained.

Based on what was shown in the demonstration, the player would face creatures that can steal HP potions and use these to heal. However, players also have the ability to steal them back.

Magic in the game is revealed to be customizable and players can mix and match items to their liking.

Apart from these, the tag team, Chocobo race and Magitek boss fight mechanics were also shown.

Meanwhile, game director Hajime Tabata revealed to IGN his sentiments about the linear storyline in the latter half of "Final Fantasy XV."

The first part of the game was revealed to have an open world type of gameplay. After a certain event in the game, the open world features are said to become inaccessible, and players would now have to follow a set storyline.

In the interview, Tabata mentioned that the linear gameplay will only make up the last parts of the game.

"I didn't want to end the game in an open world type of environment," the director mentioned. He also added, "At the very end, when the main character and the enemy are going against one another, there's a build-up in the story. I wanted to ensure that that last part was a little bit different from the open world environment and more of a packed, condensed type of game experience."

"Final Fantasy XV" is scheduled to launch for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on Nov. 29.
