With Jon (Kit Harington) and Sansa (Sophie Turner) reunited, it was only a matter of time before Ramsay (Iwan Rheon) got his comeuppance.

And get it he did.

In Sunday's episode of HBO's popular fantasy drama "Game of Thrones," Jon and his combined army of wildlings, Northerners, and knights of the Vale defeated Ramsay and his allies. The "Battle of the Bastards" came down to a one-on-one fight between Jon and Ramsay in the Winterfell courtyard, with the former pummelling the latter into a bloody paste as Sansa looked on.

From there, Ramsay came to in the kennels, where he was chained to a chair. He and Sansa had a bitter exchange before the kennel door opened and his beloved hounds, who had not eaten for a week, entered. While Ramsay was confident that the hounds would remain loyal to him, their hunger for flesh overcame their fondness for their master and the animals ate his face, killing him.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Rheon spoke about Ramsay's gory death scene, saying: "I think it was great. It's a good scene."

"Yeah, I feel really lucky he got a proper send off," he added. "And it's a gruesome death. It's so ironic. He's been banging on about those hounds all this time."

According to Rheon, who had been on the show since season 3, Ramsay's exit scene was justified and was the right way to go. As the "Game of Thrones" actor explained, the sadistic murderer and rapist had "reached his peak" and it was nice that he was actually going out on a high point.

Harington, who only ever appeared in scenes with Rheon in "Battle of the Bastards," praised his co-actor's acting and said that he loves Rheon's work.

"He's an incredibly detailed actor who's created a character who's remarkable and despicable," he said.

Meanwhile, Turner also spoke about Ramsay's disturbing death scene, calling it "amazing." According to the actress, she had loved the idea of Jon being the one to kill Ramsay but had realized that, given what the psychopathic killer had done to her character, Sansa should be the one to finish him off.

"...I was like, no, Sansa needs her first kill and it has to be Ramsay," the actress told EW. "No one else but her."

"It's such a great scene, so well written, and it's so great to be able to have my first kill," she added.

The "Game of Thrones" season 6 finale will air Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
