'Gilmore Girls' revival spoilers news: Lauren Graham is 'ruined for life' after series; revival picks up after Richard Gilmore's death

"Gilmore Girls" star Lauren Graham recently said that the cult favorite comedy/drama, which will return for a highly anticipated revival event later this year, has "ruined [her] for life."
Speaking with People on Thursday, July 14, Graham gushed about the series and what it has meant to her.
"I relished it, and I'm ruined for life because there's no more perfect fit I feel like for me than that writing and that show," the actress said about the upcoming Netflix reboot.
The actress, who plays Lorelai Gilmore, also talked about "Ghostbusters" star Melissa McCarthy and her involvement in the revival.
Earlier this year, it appeared that McCarthy had not been invited to participate in the "Gilmore Girls" limited event. It later turned out that scheduling conflicts were behind the apparent snub. In April, McCarthy announced on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" that she will be reprising her role as Sookie St. James, Lorelai's BFF and business partner, in the Netflix special.
"Honestly, there were so many things, from other friends and family I wanted and hoped to be part of the show in some way, and that was the biggest piece," Graham said. "Had that not happened, I wouldn't have felt as gratified as I do."
In an interview with Glamour, Graham also dropped some details about the upcoming limited event, revealing that it will pick up in the present time. She also said that viewers will find Lorelai, her daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel), and her mother Emily (Kelly Bishop) dealing with the death of her father Richard (the late Ed Herrmann).
"[It] picks up in iconic places for these three women," she said. "I think it gives the show a depth and a kind of grown-up-ness that is appropriate."
"Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" is scheduled to land on Netflix later this year.
