'Gotham' season 3 stills show off Poison Ivy and Valerie Vale

New still have been released for the third season of "Gotham," and they showcase classic Batman villain Poison Ivy (Maggie Geha) and Gotham reporter Valerie Vale (Jamie Chung).
Some fans may be confused with the casting of Geha as Ivy, because when she was first introduced in the series, she was a little girl. What's more, Poison Ivy's comic alter-ego is Pamela Isley, not Ivy Pepper, like in the series.
During an interview with TV Insider, executive producer John Stephens shared how Poison Ivy has aged up about 14 years since the last time that fans saw her. He says, "One of the creatures that escaped from Indian Hill has the power to age people. Sometimes he uses it to kill people; other times he doesn't get to complete the process."
An important plot point for Poison Ivy may be Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova) trying to save her from aging rapidly until death.
Meanwhile, thanks to TV Line, a new still of Jamie Chung as Valerie Vale has made its way online. In the series, Vale looks into the Indian Hill experiments conducted by Hugo Strange (BD Wong), and she has been trying to get more answers out of Gordon. There is also a possibility that the two may end up dating.
No connections have been confirmed, but Valerie is possibly related to fictional comic book reporter Vicki Vale. Vicki is a supporting character of Batman and has had romantic tie-ins with Bruce Wayne. The most prominent appearance of Vicki Vale would be her appearance in Tim Burton's "Batman" movie in 1989, played by Kim Basinger.
Seeing that Bruce (David Mazouz) is still a child in the series, Vicki could very much be Valerie's kid sister or eventual daughter in the future.
The third season of "Gotham" premieres on Sept. 19 on FOX.
