'GTA 5' DLC price, details news 2016: Expansion pack to bring new story, to be priced $50?

"Grand Theft Auto 5" is rumored to receive a massive story mode downloadable content (DLC) as its single-player campaign, which fans have been clamoring for years. The catch is that it will have the same price as the game itself.

Rockstar brings in new fan-made jobs for players of \"GTA Online.\" | Rockstar Newswire

According to "GTA" tipster Domislive, the DLC will present a brand new story presumably with new characters and with a new set of armor and vehicles.

It will basically be an entirely new "GTA" game, which is the reason it will reportedly be priced at around $49.99. Also, the price tag is that big because developer Rockstar will have a lot of work to do on it.

The alleged story mode "GTA 5" is also said to have an impact on the online side of the game, which Rockstar will reportedly need to tweak around as well.

Taking this into account, players will have to wait a long while for the "GTA 5" single-player campaign DLC. With such price tag, the good thing about the launch delay is that it will help fans prepare financially for the game.

Meanwhile, some reports say that the developer would not release the said "GTA 5" story mode DLC simply because the game has been around long enough.

Reports also suggest that the studio would rather use the time to work on a sequel or a new game, as what has been revealed recently, instead of making a single-player campaign for "GTA 5."

However, "GTA Online" continues to grow. Rockstar recently announced fan-created jobs added in the game that players of all supported platforms can try out.

The jobs for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 include Prison Break in Bolingbroke Penitentiary, where players will have to free themselves and get past all of the prison guards and other prisoners.

The second one is Central Unit, which involves two rival prison gangs fighting for the power over the jail yard.

Xbox One and Xbox 360 players of "GTA Online" get to play the High Profile Transport and Prison Trench Run. The former has to do with stopping a convoy from transporting an inmate while the latter is all about a "tumultuous" land race.

Personal computer (PC) players get Penitentiary Panic, which sees players attacking everyone who gets in the way of them getting two precious duffel bags filled with drugs.

They also get Prison Yard LTS, which involves taking out an enemy without breaking a sweat. Get the complete details here.
