'Guardians of the Galaxy' vol 2 news and release date: Star Lord's history to be the focus

After the well-received "Guardians of the Galaxy," many are excited to see what the upcoming installment of the franchise will bring.
A group of quirky heroes was presented to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, winning the hearts of many fans who are anticipating their return to the big screens. It was announced that Marvel Studios will be presenting "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" which will see Star Lord, played by Chris Pratt, and the rest of the group.
The upcoming films will be set around two months after the events of the first movie. Reports indicated that the film will show the Guardians traveling all around the galaxy, all while finding out more about Star Lord's past.
Aside from this, it is believed that the film will introduce the father of Star Lord in order to give more insight into the character's origin. However, there has yet to be any other news regarding what else will take place in the plot of the upcoming film.
Vin Diesel shared his excitement about the new film: "I think people are gonna love this movie. I think people are gonna love Guardians. I know that, on the first one, I, like, recorded six different languages, and now James Gunn wants to increase the number of languages we do this in. So, every ADR-ed line, every moment in the movie I have to do like 15, 16 times in different languages — which are cool because, you know, it means that my voice is being heard in countries where that's not always the case, even with big movies that you do, like xXx or Fast [& Furious]. "
It was revealed that filming for the movie has already finished, which means that fans are months away from seeing it in theaters. "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is expected to release in theaters on May 5, 2017. The upcoming film will also be available in 3D and IMAX.
