'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' updates: Daniel Radcliffe open to reprising his role as Harry

The next movie based in the "Harry Potter" universe is the Eddie Redmayne-fueled "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" but fans are definitely sure that the stage play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" will eventually be adapted for the big screen in the future. Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe, talks about the possibility of returning as the Boy Who Lived.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Radcliffe says, "I'm never going to close the door; that would be a stupid thing to do, but I think I'll be happy enough and secure enough to let someone else play it." He then goes on to say that his concern is that he is too young to play the much older version of Harry in that story.
"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" takes place several years after "The Deathly Hallows." Harry now has a son Albus and their relationship is a bit strained. The story follows Albus and Draco Malfoy's son, Scorpius, as they somehow mess with the time in an attempt to save Cedric Diggory by using a time-turner.
Even if the movie were to be made 10 years later, Radcliffe still says that it would be "feel strange" for him. He even likens returning for the movie to be very much like what Lucasfilm did with "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."
He says, "There's a part of me that's like, some things are better left untouched. If we went back to Potter, there's a chance we'd make what 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' was to the original 'Star Wars,' but there's also the chance that we'd make 'Phantom Menace.'"
With the cultural impact of "Harry Potter," fans are more than happy to have Radcliffe reprising his role as an older Harry.
In the meantime, fans can return to the Potterverse when "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" hits theaters on Friday, Nov. 18, 2016.
